Back to The Garden

Privacy Policy

Effective 14 October 2026

The short version. You can play without telling us who you are. If you save your gardens to your email, we keep your email address, your saved gardens and your choice about news by email. We use them to sign you in, keep your gardens, and send you news and offers if you haven’t turned that off. We don’t sell your information. You can delete your account at any time.

1. Who we are

The Garden (at thegarden.wtf) is run by 240yrolds (“we”, “us”), who decides how your information is used. Contact us at [email protected].

2. What we collect

What you type into the live builder’s AI toolsIf you use themTo make what you asked for

Your browser also keeps a few small items in its own storage (not cookies): your current garden place, your sign-in if you have an account, your gardener’s name and look, and a few settings. They stay on your device and you can clear them in your browser settings.

3. Emails we send

We send sign-in links when you ask for one, and occasional notices about your account or our terms. If you have an account, we may also send news, updates and offers about The Garden and our other products and services. Accepting the Terms of Service when you create an account includes agreeing to receive these. You can stop them at any time with the unsubscribe link in any such email, or by unticking “Email me news and offers” when signed in.

4. Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for anyone else’s advertising. We share it only with the companies that help us run The Garden, who may use it only to provide their service to us:

Other players in your garden see your gardener’s name, how it looks, where it is and what it does, and hear your voice if you turn voice on. They never see your email address. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a sale or merger of The Garden (in which case this policy keeps applying to it).

5. How long we keep it

6. Your choices and rights

If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we use your information to provide the service you asked for (our contract with you), with your consent for news and offers (which you can withdraw at any time), and for our legitimate interests in keeping The Garden safe and working. You also have the right to object, to restrict how we use your information, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

If you live in California or another US state with privacy laws, you have the right to know what we collect, to ask for it to be deleted or corrected, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

7. Children

Accounts are for people aged 13 or older (older where the law requires it). We don’t knowingly collect email addresses or other personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has given us their information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

8. Keeping it safe

Connections to The Garden are encrypted. Sign-in links and sessions are stored only as one-way hashes, and creator profile passwords are hashed. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your email account safe: anyone who can read your email can sign in to your account.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top, and for important changes we will let account holders know, for example by email or when they next sign in.
